The "Strengthening the Management and Control of Public Finances" Project
Basic project information
These pages are dedicated to the project of the Ministry of Finance of the Czech Republic entitled "Strengthening the Management and Control of Public Finances" from the Good Governance Program of EEA and Norway Funds 2014-2021, Program Areas 16 - Good Governance, Accountable Institutions. The project is implemented in partnership with the Faculty of Law of Masaryk University and the Faculty of Economics and Administration of Masaryk University.
The research team of the Faculty of Law of Charles University is tasked with the preparation of an evaluation of the current legal regulation of internal audit and de lege ferenda deliberations. Within the management and control of public finances, one of the most discussed areas is the regulation of internal audit. The analysis should address key conceptual issues on how to set the basic principles and rules of internal audit functioning - where the internal audit should be established and under what conditions, whether qualification requirements for internal auditor should be set, whether the internal audit process should be regulated, or whether an internal audit should be regulated in a separate law. The overall goal of the project is to improve the integrity and accountability of public administration.
One of the project outputs is the assessment of the findings from the anonymous questionnaire survey.
